All about us
Welcome to our Website! Here you will find loads of info about the pub.
So Firstly I will tell you a bit about the pub and our aims...
Our pub is a traditional ale house with excellent award winning ales! Our aims are to keep the standard of real ale at the highest possible. We have 11 hand pumps, 6 real ciders and 3 key keg beers. We have lots to choose from whatever your drinking tastes are.
This year we won the CAMRA Branch Pub Of The Year award for the seventh year running. This is as well as being in the good beer guide 07,08,09,10,11, 12 ,13 & 14. We have also just heard that we have won CAMRA East Kent Pub of the Year for the second year running, which we were very pleased about. Last year we won CAMRA Kent Pub of the Year. We are immensely proud of that achievement!! We intend to continue to provide you with an excellent pint for many years to come.
The Berry is a family run pub, the landlord is called Chris. He is a huge real ale enthusiast so if the beer isn't up to his standard he wont sell it! The landlady Harriett is responsible for the arty bits around the pub. Malcolm and Bev are Chris' mum and dad and they serve behind the bar as well as do many other jobs around the place. Simon from Tayberry Foods, provides us with the delicious pork pies and scotch eggs that we sell. The other staff are Ryan, Taylor, Martin and Ken. Ken is our assistant manager. Our staff are great - we are very proud of them.
We are a real community pub. We collect the Sainsbury's Active Kids vouchers for our little boy's pre-school. Our Christmas Tombola (affectionately known as the Jumbola) raised over £200 for Kent Postrate Cancer Support. Chris, Taylor and Ken did the 'Boxing Day Dip' with the Rugby Club crowd and raised over £150 (and still counting). The money raised each month from our quizzes goes to the youngsters at Deal Town Rangers. (Over £400. raised last year) We assist with local beer festivals at The RNLA local Lifeboat, The Sailing Club and The Rugby Club.
We love our pub and hope you will too, so please pop in for a friendly welcome, a warm glowing real fire and some great beers and ciders - we'd love to meet you!
